The Pantry Manager at Detroit Friendship House is responsible for both the daily operations of the food pantry and the broader mission of strengthening community relationships and ensuring compliance with food program requirements.
This role requires integrity, strong communication skills, and a commitment to serving a diverse population with dignity and respect.
Key responsibilities include tracking food inventory, ensuring compliance with USDA/TFAP and other food programs, purchasing food within budget, and maintaining accurate reporting.
The Pantry Manager also builds and maintains relationships with local organizations, vendors, donors, and volunteers while training and mentoring volunteers on an ongoing basis.
This position requires strong verbal and written communication skills, exceptional interpersonal abilities, and a commitment to fostering a welcoming, inclusive environment.
Attendance at meetings, scheduled work hours, and mandatory training is essential, as is keeping leadership informed of updates and changes.
The Pantry Manager plays a critical role in enhancing food security, supporting client choice, and ensuring the pantry operates efficiently and ethically to serve the community.

Case Manager
